Molecular Diagnostics is supported through Caris MPI, who provide a new paradigm in reference lab testing that offers comprehensive information about a patient's disease in a personalized format for their physicians and for clinical research sponsors.
Caris MPI was originally created by two non-profit organizations, the International Genomics Consortium (IGC) and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). In Jan 2008, Caris MPI was officially formed from the combination between the Molecular Profiling Institute and Caris Diagnostics (CarisDx), the leading provider of pathology services to GI physicians.
With direct access to CarisDx's infrastructure and national sales force, TGen's cutting-edge research and other strategic collaborations Caris MPI introduces discoveries made in the research lab to clinical patient care. Caris MPI is currently offering tests to help oncologists to better understand and treat cancer patients with personalized treatment plans based on the molecular characteristics of their tumors. These services are PCA3 ProfileR for prostate cancer, Mammostrat for breast cancer and Target Now for all cancer types.
Additionally, Caris MPI assists sponsors in biospecimen collection, analysis and storage for research, product development and clinical trials through its Tissue Banking & Analysis Center (TBAC) in collaboration with US Oncology.
